More than a seat at the table, it has always been a meeting place for long conversations, shared ideas and flavours handed down through generations.
Today, Zapata carries that story forward, true to its identity.

This new chapter comes from the coming together of two Portuguese restaurant families, united by the same respect for tradition and by decades of experience. On one side, Zapata’s history and legacy. On the other, the know-how of éLeBê, a family in the restaurant trade since 1974. North and South meet at the table, with the same passion for Portuguese cooking.

Here, tradition is not a starting point to be reinvented; it is a solid foundation to be kept, cared for and respected. The menu reflects this philosophy: dishes that have always belonged to the house sit alongside new interpretations, created with the same rigour, memory and identity.

At Zapata, the flavours are familiar. Petiscos are still made for sharing, for the table, for conversation and for time well spent. Some return just as they always were. Others appear with a contemporary touch, without ever losing their soul.

Zapata remains what it has always been: a Portuguese cervejaria with its doors open, where tradition lives in the present and sits down at the table every day.

The new Zapata is born from the union of two Portuguese restaurant families.

The family that founded Zapata keeps Lisbon’s tradition alive, making the cervejaria a meeting place for friends and for flavours that span generations.

The Torres family, of éLeBê, brings decades of experience in Portuguese restaurants, combining rigour, know-how and a contemporary take on traditional cooking.

North and South at the same table, memory and innovation, tradition and experience, in a Zapata that honours the past and celebrates the present.
